Join the Friends of Frederick Douglass at Frederick Douglass Memorial Plaza in Highland Park. Make history as part of the 125th commemoration of the June 9, 1899, unveiling of the Frederick Douglass Monument and wreath laying. Douglass descendants and other experts will share little known facts about this first American monument dedicated to an African Amerian. Enjoy the remarks from notable government officials and up and coming youth in the lilac-scented air.
